Everyone is different. Different musical interests and styles, ages, different abilities, musical goals, practice levels, different rates of progress. We understand that and we want to make each student a success on their own terms, unlike some studios that are looking to weed out all but the best, and forget the rest. You may want to come in once a week and just have someone to jam with; you may be practicing your head off to get into music school, perfecting your stage technique for your current, paying gigs, or just working on the latest Coldplay song for yourself at home. You may love Brahms or Tony Rice or Metallica or Chris Tomlin or the Eagles or Staind or big band, soul, and country. At Promethean Studios your teacher will use your goals to direct learning and he/she will adjust your lessons based on your strength and weaknesses. So you're shy, or you've never had lessons, or you don't see the value of music theory. We'll help you with all those things and many more. We've taught thousands of students from around the world so we know how to adjust lesson content without losing learning quality.
We want your lessons to be as crafted to YOU as possible, so you're inspired and learn the most quickly. One way we do this is ask your goals for lessons right in the 1st lesson and consistently try to meet those goals, whether you just want to play 2 songs at home alone or be the best musician ever heard. Another way we customize lessons is by dividing the lesson into different tracks or areas or sections. A student may be on level 15 in theory, level 4 in rhythm, level 12 in ear-training, level 10 in scales, level 20 in chords, level 8 in songs; another student will be completely different. Some students will need to leave out areas of learning or delay them, according to their needs and goals. We have several dozen sections or tracks in our program, each with it's separate levels. This is to allow each student to grow at his/her own pace, without compromising ability or leaving important issues in music behind. A third way we customize lessons is by using personality tests, which we give to all students 14 years old and above. These tests don't predict success or failure for a student (almost anyone can succeed in music) or what instrument to play; they just help alert us to potential strengths and weaknesses of a student musically. This also helps us understand your learning style and what motivates you personally. Sometimes we might even ask a student to switch to another one of our teachers to find a better musical or personality fit. That's why it's so good that we have many teachers, with many styles and view points available to match your tastes and help you grow. But always our goal is to get you where you want to be musically, pro or plunker.
