Summer Music Camps in the Dallas Area
Are you ready for high-intensity, crazy fun music camps geared toward making
you a stronger musician? Promethean Studios offers several summer music
camps designed to be challenging while emphasizing how fun music is! We
offer four different band camps, six music camps for individual excellence,
and art and music camps for young children.
Each of our camps are designed to be fun and intense experiences that will
advance your music skills in a short period of time. More importantly,
you get to spend time with other players your age, connecting and practicing
together with the one thing you all have in common: a love for good music.
Each band camp welcomes all instruments!
Our band camps come in four varieties:
Rock Band Camp - $260
Rock Band allows you to hang out with people your age and play music you
love while a teacher leads and encourages you to greatness. Rock Band
meets every morning for a week from 9:30am – 11:25am. For kids and
teens! Members must be at least beginner level and must schedule a three-minute
placement audition beforehand.
BIG Rock Band - $540
BIG Rock Band takes the same exact format as Rock Band Camp, but heightens
the intensity! BIG Rock Band meets every day for a week from 9:30am –
2:25pm! Meeting with other musicians for 5.5 hours every day will improve
your playing like nothing else will. For kids and teens. Schedule an audition today!
Jazz Band Camp - $260
Jazz camp is taught by renowned jazz performer and Promethean Studios
founder Mark Black. This camp will help you master jazz skills such as
improvisation, understanding scales, modes, and chord progressions, as
well as style development for each instrument. We meet every morning for
a week from 9:30am – 11:25am.
Summer Bands - $220
For a more easygoing, relaxed band experience, join a Summer Band! Summer
Bands meet once a week for 8 55-minute sessions. This band will allow
you to spend time with other musicians while you all prepare for a performance
together over the course of two months. Even with a less-demanding meeting
schedule, you’ll see your skills improve and sharpen quickly!
The last lesson of each camp is a concert for family and friends! At Promethean
Studios, we believe that there is nothing quite as rewarding for musicians
and their loved ones as a performance. Playing music for the enjoyment
of others makes a musician sharper, more alert, and more likely to improve
their playing. That’s why each of our camps is designed with a final
performance in mind, to show families (and even the students) how far
they’ve come in a short time.
Our individual Music Camps are a week of one-hour sessions for beginner
players. These sessions are designed to help you grow by establishing
a firm foundation in playing and singing. In the course of a week, students
will have written, played, or sung up to three songs!
Music Camps are $160 each and are offered in a variety of instruments and skills:
- Piano / Keyboarding
- Voice (bring backing tracks for 3 songs you want to sing!)
- Performance Club (bring 4 or 5 songs that you want to work on!)
Because we believe in the power and fun of performance to drive musicians
to excellence, each Music Camp ends with a concert for family and friends!
Each camp will require you to bring a notebook and a pencil for the session.
For the bass and guitar camps, you will need to bring your guitar and
any chords that you may need if the instrument is electric.
We offer two separate camps for young children, geared toward introducing
your child to the fundamentals (and fun) of art and music! Both camps
meet in the morning from 9:30am – 11:25am every day for a week.
Kids’ Music Camp - $260
For kids aged 5 to 9, our Kids’ Music Camp introduces your child
to the beauty and fun of music! We’ll learn how to read music together,
sing songs, listen to different styles of music, and learn about the different
families of musical instruments! Our last class will be a performance
for family and friends to show everything that we’ve learned through the week.
Kids’ Art Camp - $240
For kids aged 7 to 12, our Art Camp introduces your child to the basics
of art and drawing. We learn about colors, shapes, and muscle memory as
we focus on a new aspect of art every day. Each day will have a different
day like Superhero Day (drawing the human figure), Cartooning Day (still-lifes),
and others! Our last hour will be a presentation from the campers on art,
and it will include an exhibit of the work they’ve created that week!
